Reading Notes: Ramayana Part B

 Bharata vows to retrieve Rama and make him king after their father's death. Rama is found and refuses. Rama, Sita, Lakshama continue their stay in the forest and visit the ashrams. Sita gets abducted and Rama and Lakshama much dig a bit to defeat the demon kidnapper. Shurpanakah, Ravana's sister,  falls in love with Rama but he does not feel the same way and he tries to set her up with his brother. Shurpanakah gets offended and attacks Sita and the two brothers with her brother Khara. Rama shoots him with a bow and wins the battle. Ravana kidnaps Sita in the form of a deer (demon Maricha). As she is being carried away, Sita drops her jewelry so that Rama can track her. Rama kills the deer and finds Sita gone. Ravana tries to seduce Sita to sleep with him but she refuses. Rama and Lakshama set out to rescue Sita.
